A Good Quote, #1: On Wisdom

Every once in awhile, I come across a good quote that I just have to pass along.  This past weekend at a state basketball tournament, I met Holly, one of the fantastic coaches in my son’s basketball league.  I have watched her from afar for the last year–she is quiet, but strong, and her boys basketball team rocks!  Holly is the Christian mother of seven, and her youngest is currently in middle school.  Our short conversation was an encouragement to me, a mom of three young’uns.

Holly said she often shares the following quote with “her boys.”  It is true for basketball, but it is also true for life.

“The wise person learns from other people’s mistakes.  The smart person learns from his own mistakes.  The foolish person never learns.”

“The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to his ways.” (Proverbs 14:8)  So, today think about what Holly said.  Live it out.  Pass it along.
